Just Do!

When we are faced with something negative in our life most of us will not ask for help. A few of us in the neighborhood we live in have made a pact with each other. If the wives think the husband could use some help they reach out. The reason for this is that many times we will not make that call ourselves, even if help is exactly what we need.

The same rings true when someone suffers the loss of a loved one. We may need help but will not ask in most cases. We will struggle and push through the obstacle that prevents us from moving past it. It makes it even more difficult than it should be.

After the loss of a loved one we all hear it and some of you have said it. “Please let me know if you need anything…” I am here to tell you do not ask what they need, just do. Grab that dinner and go to them. Grab that bottle of wine and head to their house and sit with them. Drive to their house and pick them for a day of relaxation. Everyone is different and needs different things, but we will never know that until we sit with them and talk.
